HOME |
The 1.6 miles of single bank salmon fishing on the south bank (right hand side) of the River Tyne is approximately 3 miles upstream
of the tidal limit.
The upper pool, The Ashes, is opposite the Bywell Fishings. The water offers a good mix of glide, stream
and pool.
The salmon and sea trout caught on this beat are wonderfully fresh with sea-liced fish setting the standard. After June 16 catch and release is voluntary.
The beat fishes throughout the season with a selection springers, summer fish and fresh autumn salmon and good fresh
sea trout from April onwards .
The beat can accommodate 10 rods, of which six rods are let. A ghillie is available by prior arrangement. Also easy access for disabled anglers to the river exists and a fishing/lunch hut is available.
